Phlox paniculata ‘Jeana’ has been named the 2024 Perennial of the Year by the Perennial Plant Association. Dense clusters of lavender-pink flowers top strong stems from midsummer through early fall. The fragrant flowers are highly attractive to pollinators, especially butterflies and hummingbirds. ‘Jeana’ grows best in full sun and moist, well-drained soil. Sturdy stems support the flowers up to four feet tall and three feet wide.
This tall garden phlox variety has smaller individual flowers than other garden phlox, but that does not lessen how impressive it is during full bloom. ‘Jeana’ also has a high resistance to powdery mildew. This fantastic phlox is perfect for planting along borders or in pollinator gardens. It pairs well with Leucanthemum (Shasta daisies), Salvia (meadow sage), and Echinacea (coneflowers).
