Pruning Perennials Workshop

Jane Morris, who was head gardener out here for around 11 years gave a wonderful workshop this evening on pruning perennials.  She’s giving it again on Saturday morning at 10:00.  If you are thinking about coming, I would highly recommend it.  Everyone here tonight came away with lots of great tips on how to keep the perennials blooming and looking great.  Some perennials benefit from an early pruning to make them shorter, sturdier, and more floriferous.  Many will rebloom if you cut them back after their first flush of blooms.  Others just need some careful deadheading to make them keep blooming.

Most people think of shrubs or trees when they hear the word “pruning”.  Jane does a great job of educating us as to why and when to prune a whole host of perennials.  After hearing her presentation, you will be using your pruners and scissors a lot more, and your garden will be looking a lot better.  Take advantage of this great education.
